Bathroom Buddy

This cute little guy followed me to the bathroom this morning. I was going for a quick trip but he got comfy with his coloring book and had plans for a longer stay. Never a dull moment around here!

The weather people around here have been mentioning the possibility of snow for about a week now. I never get very excited about it and I certainly don't mention it to the boys for fear that it probably won't happen and they'll be so disappointed. About 3:30 this morning I woke up and after taking a peek at the radar...I was pretty convinced it was really going to happen this time!

By the time Adam got up around 7:00 to get ready for work it was super cold and the snow had started to fall. Rusty wasn't worried about checking things out at the window but much preferred to stay tucked in his warm bed!

We let it snow for a few hours and then decided to go outside mid-morning. These guys were so excited!

No more than ten minutes had gone by while we were playing outside when both boys decided they were too cold and would rather go back inside. They are my kind of guys!

Around lunch time, Daddy's office closed and he came home to enjoy the snow day with us. We all took a good afternoon nap and then Sam and I made some hot chocolate to keep us warm!

The hot chocolate was delicious and a perfect ending to an unexpected and wonderfully lazy snow day at home with my favorites.

Bunk Buddies

We have been planning on moving the boys in together to make room for Morgan, but had originally thought it would be closer to her arrival. Tonight, for some reason, we got a wild hair and decided to just give it a try. Jack has never slept anywhere but in a crib so this was quite a transition for him -- a new room and a big boy bed! Sam was thrilled to get to move to the top bunk and have a ladder to climb on his way to bed every night. They were sweet and all smiles before we turned off the lights tonight so I hope things continue to go this well. They are such good boys!!

Weekend in Nashville

My mom and I left early Saturday morning for a girls weekend in Nashville. Her rheumatologist recently moved there from Jackson and her first appointment with him at his new clinic was today. I was pretty excited that she picked me to come with her on this fun road trip!

Once we got into town Saturday afternoon, our first stop was the mall! We had a fun trip to New York planned for this past December, but unfortunately my pregnancy complications kept us from traveling so far. We had big plans to make two big purchases while in New York, but we found a way to make those purchases in Nashville instead. My first steps inside a Louis Vuitton store were memorable for sure and we ended up both picking out the same bag! We are related for sure. :)

We also bought coats for the Fall for all of the kids. Look at this tiny pink one for Morgan!

After our first day of shopping, we went back to our hotel and had a wonderful dinner at Ruth's Chris steakhouse. You can't beat their steaks sizzling in butter.

Before we left to continue our shopping on Sunday, Mom and I pulled the purses out of their boxes and got them ready. No sense in leaving them in the room all day. We were taking them out and using them!

We spent almost the whole day Sunday at this great outlet mall near the Opryland Hotel. We were so exhausted by dinner time that we chose the convenience of dining inside the mall. They had a Macaroni Grill and we got one of our favorite dishes that we would eat a lot back in the days when there was a Macaroni Grill in Jackson. It was a nice break off of our feet after such a long day.

We couldn't leave town without something for Sam and Jack so we picked up this very cool Lego set to bring home to our sweet boys. We missed all of our boys so much and so appreciated Adam and Shuffie taking such good care of things while we were away. It was a treat to spend some uninterrupted time with my mom and to relax. Thanks for a wonderful weekend, Mom! I love you!
