Sam's Four Year Checkup

This morning Sam and I went to see Dr. Sherwood for his four-year-old checkup.  He weighed 39 lbs and was 41.5" tall.  Dr. Sherwood talked to him for a little while to find out things he had learned to do lately.  He told her how he could dress himself and ride a bike, how much he loved to play ball and that he would be starting preschool the end of August.  I talked to her about trying to give him some peanut butter before school starts so we can find out for sure if he is allergic or not.  She said that it would be a good idea to try it but to make sure we had some Benadryl nearby just in case.  She thought he looked great and told him he didn't have to get any shots at this checkup so he was thrilled!

After we finished at the doctor, Sam and I went out for a lunch date.  Since he had been so good at the doctor I told him he could choose the place.  He wanted to go to "Old McDonald's."  I loved the special time with my big boy and am so thankful for a healthy, growing boy!

Croup Strikes Again!

Jack spent most of last night coughing, and I spent most of last night listening to Jack cough.  The "barking" cough is easy to distinguish and whenever I hear it from one of my babies I know it is time to go to the doctor.

I called the Children's Clinic this morning and got Jack an appointment with Dr. Sherwood.

He was very patient while we waited.

Once we got back to a room, all he wanted to do was snuggle and I soaked up every minute of it.  We didn't wait back there long before Dr. Sherwood came in and confirmed what I thought.  Jack has croup.

When we got back to the car he immediately put his shades on and was ready to go pickup his medicine from the pharmacy.  I'm hoping he starts feeling better very soon!

Family Game Night

Sam Turns 4 with Ninja Turtles Galore!

This afternoon, friends and family came to Miller's Grill & Pizzeria on 471 to help Sam celebrate his 4th birthday!  He had a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed pizza party!

We ran out of time to open presents at Miller's so we loaded them all up and continued the party at our house after we left Miller's.
