Sam's New Hobby

Sam has taken up vacuuming...ALL.THE.TIME. :)

This new interest of his came about after he saw Ms. Jan vacuum around our house. He started by using any push toy he could find and pretending it was a vacuum. This got me thinking that if there is a man on this earth that enjoys vacuuming then I should probably encourage and nurture this "hobby" -- right? ;) So I did what any of you would have done and went out to get the poor little guy a real vacuum. It lives in his bedroom closet and comes out at least once a day. I'm pretty sure that watching him vacuum and squat to get under the furniture is one of the funniest things I have seen lately. I'm thinking he will make a really good husband if he keeps this up!

Winning Haircut

Sam was such a good boy today for his haircut so we had to take a picture by the trophy on the counter before we left.

Quick Trip to Oxford

Adam, Sam, Rusty & I loaded up Friday afternoon and headed to Oxford for the night. The Rebels were playing Alabama in baseball for the weekend and Bobi, Didi, Easy & Cousin Banks were going to be there too.

When we arrived in Oxford, we had just enough time to drop Rusty off at the condo and head to the stadium for the game.

Rusty decided to put his shades on and relax at the condo while everyone else was at the game.

On Saturday morning everybody headed to the Grove to play ball and run off some energy before it was time to eat some lunch and head home.

Sam was sporting his Rebel colors...
and loved throwing the ball to Banks, Easy & Dada!
Run boys run!
We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Proud Larry's and then caught a few innings of the Saturday baseball game before it was time to hit the road back to Jackson. What a fun trip to Oxford!

Ear Checkup

Sam had an appointment this morning with Dr. Sherwood to re-check his ears and make sure his ear infection from two weeks ago had cleared up.

As soon as we walked into the waiting room, Sam hopped up into a chair and was so proud to be sitting by himself. I looked at him and almost did a double-take because in a few short months he has grown up right before my eyes!! It seems like just yesterday we sat in this same room with a teeny tiny baby Sam that was only two weeks old. Today, I sat there with a little boy that couldn't stop singing "Jesus Loves Me," can almost count to 10 and is just as sweet and loving as he can be!

Happy Birthday, Lili & Bobi!

Sam's two grandmothers just happen to share a birthday, March 14th. What are the chances?

This year we celebrated Lili's birthday on Monday night at Meme's house. She cooked a delicious meal of Lasagna and homemade chocolate pie - everyone's favorite.

Sam had to sneak a bite of pie while he was helping Lili blow out her candles.

"Fuffie," Sam & Lili

Meme and Sam had fun eating pie and being silly. That little hat on Sam's head belongs to a doll that lives at Meme's house but for some reason he always has to wear it when we go visit.

Tonight, we went out to eat at Char to celebrate Bobi's birthday. Unfortunately we didn't take any pictures at dinner because it took most of our energy to keep two busy boys happy and eating through a long meal, but I did find a picture from Thanksgiving of Bobi with two of her favorite boys (the third favorite boy is still unavailable for photos but hopefully will be appearing in pictures by early May) that I thought was too cute not to post.

Happy Birthday Lili & Bobi - We love you and look forward to celebrating many, many more!

Hit It "Boo-ies"

Thursday night we pulled out our suitcases and packed for a weekend of baseball in Oxford. Sam had not been to a game since last season and we knew this would be the first time he might really enjoy watching - if only for a few minutes.

While I was thinking he might not sit still very long....

Sam was thinking he was going to watch 6 INNINGS of baseball without much movement at all! Yes, I think we were all shocked that he sat in Adam's lap for that long and didn't take his eyes off the field. He called all of the players boys - except it came out as "boo-ies" every time he opened his mouth to cheer. "Hit it Boo-ies," "Run, run, run, Boo-ies," "Go Rellas (Go Rebels)."

For those of you that know Adam, all of those cheers were music to his ears. His hopes of having a little life-time baseball buddy had been confirmed this chilly Friday night at Oxford-University Stadium.

We had some pretty good weather for the weekend, but as you can see, Sam didn't have time to be bothered by very many pictures - he was missing the game and wasn't too happy about it!

By the time the Sunday game rolled around, we didn't even have to remind Sam to put his hand over his heart during the National Anthem - he had that under control like a big boy. We had such a fun time in Oxford watching the games but even more fun watching our sweet boy enjoy the game of baseball. I have a feeling this will be the first of many trips to watch the "boo-ies" hit it.

My Best Buddy

My days wouldn't be half as bright without this little ray of sunshine in them. I love every minute we spend together!

Growing Up Too Fast!

Sam Loves Cars

Sam's favorite movie right now is Car's. Lately, we have been collecting some of the characters from the movie and he sure does love playing with them. His favorites are "Queen" (Lightning McQueen) & "Maynor" (Mater).

Racked Out

Does This Outfit Make My Belly Look Big?

Sam and I had an impromptu fashion show tonight while I was going through some clothes that Cousin Banks and Didi (Aunt Amanda) were nice enough to share with us. Unfortunately, some of the outfits were too little but Sam sure kept us laughing by posing while I snapped a few pictures. Adam laughed when he saw this picture and said "19 months old & 7 months pregnant."
