Eight Week Checkup

I took this little sweet girl today for her eight week checkup with Dr. Adcock.  She weighed 10 lbs 12.5 oz (56th percentile) and was 22 1/4" long (53rd percentile).  She has been growing like a weed since our last visit!  We also were happy to report that the Nutramigen and Prevacid have both done the trick to help the colic and the reflux and she's turned into a great sleeper and a much happier baby.

Unfortunately, we didn't make it out of the doctor's appointment as easily as we did last time.  Didi got us with three bad shots and an oral vaccine before we could leave.

After we got home she really started getting fussy.  I gave her some Tylenol and then laid her down for a rest.  Big brother was most upset that she wasn't feeling well from her shots so he got his pillow and laid down by her in case she needed something.  There is NO doubt that she will always be loved and protected by these boys.  So sweet!

Homemade Ice Cream Sundaes

Tonight we stayed in to make homemade ice cream sundaes and watch a movie together.

Sam showing Jack how it's done!

A little ice cream with your sprinkles?  :)

Having fun!

The sugar rush is already starting!

We watched The Sandlot while we ate our ice cream sundaes.  After the movie was over, we drove to the causeway and watched the Reservoir Independence Day Celebration fireworks from our car.  What a fun night!

She Squeals

My mom has always said, "You come here the way you're going to be."  I am really starting to believe her.  Does Morgan already know how to cry like a girl?  YES.  She doesn't sound anything like the boys did when they cried as babies.  She has a high-pitched, girly squeal.  Of course it's sad when she cries but we can't help but laugh some time when we realize just how girly she already is and she's just an infant.  She's making her presence known and letting us know that a girl is definitely going to be different from these two boys we have gotten used to!

Sam's First Time to Feed Morgan

Sam did a great time feeding Morgan for the first time.  He's such a great big brother and a really big help to me each day.  Way to go, Sam!

All Wrapped Up

Up to No Good

We were going to take the boys to play putt putt tonight in celebration of our anniversary, but the place had closed due to rain earlier in the day.  The boys were pretty disappointed so Adam moved on to plan B.  Since we were driving through Pearl, he thought about checking with William to see if he was working tonight.  We heard back from him pretty quickly and found out we were in luck!

We met William at a gas station near one of the Pearl exits.  He turned his lights on for the boys and let them look around in his patrol car.

Sam even got to see what real "handcups" feel like!

Thanks for saving our night, William.  Hanging out with you turned out to be even better than playing golf!

Happy 7th Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary, Adam!  We just thought we were having fun on this day seven years ago.  Little did we know, the best was yet to come!  We have been blessed and I wouldn't want to spend my days with anyone but you.  I love you!

Today I went to my first Kelly's Kids warehouse sale in Natchez, MS.

I took this fun lady with me and Gena and Adrienne joined us, too.

We found LOTS of great deals and can't wait to go back again soon!

Jack Learns to Drive!

Jack was SO excited that he learned to drive the jeep all by himself this afternoon.

Sam was so sweet to cheer Jack on and tell him what a good job he was doing.  Sweet brothers!

She's Hard to Put Down!

Her sweet face and pretty eyes looking back at me make it so hard to put her down!  So...I think we'll just snuggle a bit longer.  :)

Happy Father's Day!

My three kids hit the daddy jackpot for sure!

I could go on and on about Adam, but I think the piece he wrote and posted on Facebook earlier today (copied below) says all you need to know about him as a person, a husband and a father.
Happy Father's Day, Adam!  We love you so much!

"As I'm getting ready to go throw Sam his "batting practice" for the 100th time this week I'm kind of thinking man I'd like to watch all the good sports on TV today. I see a sink of bottles that need washing for my newest little princess. I see Jack needing help putting on his favorite new shoes.

And then I'm reminded of the events of the past couple of weeks. I'm inspired by them. What they wouldn't give for just one more moment. One more hug. One more pitch, or bottle wash or shoe change. I'll never take one second with these for granted.

On Father's Day I'm always reminded of one of my favorite quotes.

"There is no greater happiness for a man than approaching a door at the end of a day knowing someone on the other side of that door is waiting for the sound of his footsteps."
- Ronald Reagan

I absolutely come to that door every single day. There is no greater honor or privilege God has given me than being the father of my three beautiful kids. I love Sam's passion for everything he does in life. And he has one of the kindest hearts you'll ever find. We could all learn from him. Jack has an electric smile that you can't miss. He doesn't talk a lot (because Sam doesn't leave much room for it) but you can see those wheels turning. He's got a great laugh. We haven't figured Morgan out yet. But she's probably the prettiest baby you've ever seen. I have a feeling she's got a lot of her mama in her. So she's in good shape.

I probably wouldn't have written a post like this in the past. Not "macho" enough. Getting older and experiencing more things has made me not care in the least. So happy Father's Day to all the great fathers. I challenge you to not take anything for granted.

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."
- Proverbs 22:6"
