Oxford Regional

We were so excited to find out that Ole Miss was hosting a baseball regional this year.  Since we hadn't made it to any of the regular season games, we decided to make our first road trip as a family of five to Oxford for the postseason!

The weather on Friday was very rainy and the forecast for game time was looking bleak.  About an hour before the game was scheduled to start the sky looked pretty clear so we decided to drive over to the stadium and wait for the verdict.  As we were walking to the gate, we passed people walking back to their cars that told us the games had been postponed until Saturday morning.  Bummer!

Game or no game, we had to take a picture of our three precious Rebels since we had worked so hard to get there.  Sister slept through her first Ole Miss photo op.  She needed her beauty rest!

We went to eat dinner Friday night at Irie on the square and bumped into Bo Wallace, the Ole Miss quarterback.  Sam was excited to have his picture made with him.

Morgan was less than impressed by our Bo sighting and did not want to be bothered.

Saturday morning we got up and put on our same cute outfits from the day before and went back to the stadium to try again.

There were smiles all around that we were actually going to get to watch some baseball!

Morgan had her hand over her heart for the National Anthem.

On the way to our seats the boys got to meet Ross Bjork, the Athletic Director.

They were really into cheering for the Rebels!

Sam was so proud of the foul ball he and Daddy caught when they walked down near the first base side to say hey to our friend Jim.

Me and my sweet girl stepped outside for the last few minutes of the last game on Saturday.  Everyone thought she was so tiny and precious!  I know Daddy was so proud of his little cheerleader.  :)

These two guys share a serious love for baseball AND each other.

Saturday night we played a few board games before bedtime.  I'm not sure who had more fun, the two big boys or the two little boys.

Sunday morning we put on some more red and blue so we could go back and cheer on the Rebels.  Take one...

Take two...

The third time was the charm!

Sam found him a bat and some silly hair at Rebel Rags.

"Ohhh...there are a lot of people at this game, Mama!"

Because the Friday games didn't get started until Saturday, the rest of the games were pushed back and the championship game was scheduled for Monday.  We were thrilled that we won the Sunday game but sad because we had to leave Sunday night to come back home so Adam could go to work.

This is a picture of the outfield showers when the Rebels won the regional Monday to advance to a Super Regional.

Proud of our guys for playing so well this weekend.  We had a great time together and enjoyed a much-needed change of scenery.  The boys had fun watching baseball and sister was a trooper on her first road trip.  Hotty Toddy and hopefully we'll make it to Omaha this year!
