Late last night, around 11:30, Adam decided to go get the boys out of their beds to come snuggle with us. Of course, as soon as he got them into our room they were wide awake and nowhere close to interested in going to sleep. Since it was a weekend night, we decided to have some fun and eat popcorn and watch The Voice.
All four of us were lined up across the bed when a few minutes into our show I heard a crack and then the top of the mattress fell towards the floor! What?!
We all hopped up and turned the light on. Adam and I moved the mattress and box springs and found the culprit of our collapsed mattress. The bed frame had split and the top support was no longer holding the mattress up.
The boys made themselves comfy on the floor while Adam went out driving around 1:00 a.m. to find something to put under the frame to hold the mattress and box springs up again.
He returned around 1:45 a.m. with some bricks that worked perfectly to fix the bed. By the time we got everything put back together and settled back in bed it was almost 2:30 in the morning! The boys had a blast and not long after we got in the bed they decided they didn't have as much room as they would like and went back to sleep in their own beds.
It is never a dull moment around here, but Daddy's quick thinking fixed us up. The night ended with a few laughs and some good sleep.
