He's a Good Man

This afternoon, Adam was brave enough to take Rusty and Sam on a walk around the neighborhood all by himself. He knew this mama and her belly probably wouldn't make it in the ridiculous heat, but his furry son needed the exercise....so off they went!

Happy Birthday, Mimi!

Everyone got together tonight at Bobi and Pop Pop's house to help Mimi celebrate her 83rd birthday.

All of the boys enjoyed playing together in the back yard - baseball, frisbee, golf, riding toys...they were into anything and everything!

Adam was sweet enough to "pose" for Mimi in hopes of getting a picture of himself he could give her on her birthday (especially since she LOVES his beard so much...) ;)

After dinner, the whole crew gathered around Mimi to sing and help her blow out her candles. The littlest boys were very interested in the cake and couldn't wait to dig in.

I guess all of the excitement and sugar from the night had finally gotten to my two boys - they are so silly but so much fun!

Happy Birthday, Mimi! We love you!

First Trip to the Beach - Orange Beach 2011

Bright and early Wednesday morning Lili, Shuffie, Adam, Sam and I loaded up and headed to Orange Beach for Sam's first beach vacation. We timed our drive so that we could meet Aunt Lisa for lunch in Fairhope and celebrate her birthday a few days early.

After we ate lunch, we said our goodbyes and it wasn't long before we arrived in Orange Beach. Sam caught one glimpse of the water and sand from our balcony and was ready to go check it out.

He loved when the water would wash up and hit his feet and every time another wave was coming he would say "Here it comes, here it comes!"

Sam and Daddy had so much fun playing in the water.

Thursday was our first full day to be able to spend at the pool and the beach so...

Sam didn't waste any time getting dressed and ready to go out!

We had to bring Sam's "digger" so he could work in the sand,

but a boy can only do so much work before it is time for a little rest and relaxation - especially on vacation!

After a short rest and a lunch break, we all headed back to the beach so Daddy and Sam could build sand castles.

Where are your legs Sam?

Now Daddy's legs have disappeared too - silly boys! :)

Friday night we went to eat dinner at one of our favorite places, Lulu's.

We took a few family pictures before it was time to head to...

play putt putt golf!

Sam got a hole-in-one ALL BY HIMSELF but couldn't pull off the win - Daddy was just too good.

We had a little time after golf before the outlet mall closed so we decided to do a little shopping. The boys and the girls split up to make the most of our time and those boys ended up in the Nike store pretending to be baseball players!

To rewards the boys for their patience while we shopped, we stopped at the TCBY on the way back to our condo. Shuffie and Sam found a good seat and couldn't wait to eat their ice cream.

Saturday was our last full day at the beach and I couldn't let the trip go by without at least one picture of me and my sweet boy.

He sure did look cute in all of his beach gear!

Poor Shuffie! Daddy and Sam buried him in the sand and Sam thought it was so funny.

Sunday morning we went to our favorite little beignet place once more before it was time to start the long, sad drive home.

As we were passing through Fairhope we were able to stop again and meet Aunt Lisa at the park to feed the ducks and geese.

There was a sweet older man riding his bike through the park and he stopped and gave us a bag of corn to feed them. They sure loved the corn a whole lot more than the bread we had for them!

Look at all of them!

We could have stayed at the pretty park all day, but unfortunately our fun had to end because it was time to head to Jackson to check on our pup Rusty.

A BIG thank you to Lili and Shuffie for a wonderful trip to the beach. We had so much fun!

Feeding the Ducks

We ate dinner tonight at Grant's Kitchen on Lakeland and Sam spotted some ducks in the parking lot. We saved some of our bread from dinner and went out to the lake behind the restaurant when we finished eating to see if we could find any ducks to feed. Sam sure did enjoy looking and waving at all of them and he even got to feed a few ducklings. They were so cute!

Ole Miss vs. Mississippi State Baseball Weekend

We headed to Oxford on Friday afternoon to watch our Rebels play the Bulldogs in the last home baseball series of the regular season. Sam loves watching the "boys" and was all smiles as we were heading out of town.

Unfortunately, the Rebels played hard but couldn't pull off a win Thursday or Friday night. The losses didn't get Sam down though, he just enjoyed cheering and watching some good SEC baseball.

After all of the excitement on Friday night, Sam decided to take a really good nap on Saturday afternoon to rest up before we headed back to the stadium that night for the last game of the series.

This has been the first year that we have had Rebel Club seats and Sam and I have both really enjoyed the convenience of all of the delicious meals and snacks. We ate dinner up in the Rebel club that night and had some pretty good hot dogs. My favorite was when I was cutting up Sam's hot dog and he started singing "Mama hot dog, Mama hot dog, Mama hot dog, Mama hot dog." It had a pretty catchy tune and he sang it quite a few times during the rest of the trip. What mama wouldn't love a song written about her? ;) We cheered hard and were able to pull our Rebels to victory Saturday night. As always, we enjoyed our baseball weekend in Oxford and are already looking forward to the games next season.

Dinner at Table 100

Lili, Sam and I took Sarah to dinner tonight at Table 100 for her birthday. You would never know by Sam's bright eyes and big smile that he had spent most of the day shopping with three women at the Canton Flea Market. He is such a good sport!

"Dada, Watch Base...Ball"

Almost every night, without fail, we ask Sam if he is ready to go to bed and he always replies, "No, Dada - watch base....ball." Like father, like son.

Saturday With My Boys

In celebration of Mother's Day tomorrow, my two sweet boys treated me to lunch at Julep. We had some delicious food and Sam loved sitting like a big boy in the booth next to Adam.
After we left Highland Village, Adam couldn't resist stopping at the North Jackson baseball fields on Lakeland and showing Sam around. Every time we pass the fields Sam always points and talks about the boys playing ball. Sam loved watching a few minutes of the games and even had his picture made by a sign with his daddy's name on it from when he was 11 years old and his team won the regional AAU tournament. Adam has so many wonderful memories out at those fields and I know it meant a lot to him to be able to go back and take his own son to his old "stomping grounds."

Do You Have the Time, Sir?

Sam and I went to Apple Annie's this morning to buy a gift and happened to stumble upon this cute little frog watch. He loved it and I just couldn't resist - it was perfect for him!

Big Smile, Big Heart, Big Boy.....

BIG BROTHER!!!

Sam is very excited to finally be able to announce to everyone that he is going to be a big brother! Baby Milner #2 is due November 24, 2011 - Thanksgiving Day!
We went to the doctor a few weeks ago and took our little man with us.

We got this sweet little snapshot while we were there and were so thankful to hear a precious, strong heartbeat. I'm pretty sure nothing in the world beats that sound..whether it's your first or fifth baby.

Sam has been very interested in my belly lately and keeps saying he wants the baby to get out. I've been trying to explain to him that the baby has to live in my stomach for a while so it can grow and get big enough to come play. He loves it when we see other babies so I know he is going to be a wonderful big brother. I can't wait to see my two babies together in a few months. We ask for your prayers for a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy and look forward to finding out if Baby Milner is a boy or girl the end of June - so stay tuned!

I have to leave you with this conversation between me and Adam and Sam the other day when we were riding in the car. Adam and I couldn't stop laughing...

Me: Sam, do you think you are going to have a brother or a sister?

Sam: No....

Me: Do you think it is a brother?

Sam: No...

Me: Do you think it is a sister?

Sam: Yes, sister!

Me: If you have a sister will you love her and always take care of her?

Sam: Yes, AMEN!
