Sam went for his 6 month checkup and shots yesterday and got a great report. He is 21 lb. 5 oz. (95th percentile) and is 29.5 inches long (99th percentile). He is definitely going to be a big boy - just like his daddy! Dr. Sherwood said she is extremely pleased with his growth and development and does not even consider him a preemie anymore. Yay!
She looked at his eyes and said that she really expected them to stay blue if they had not already turned by now. She also told us to go ahead and start adding vegetables to his diet and to continue with the fruit and cereal. Hopefully these extra solids will help with his reflux.
He got the first dose of the seasonal flu shot and then the three other "regularly scheduled" shots for his age. He was a sick little boy after that to say the least. He was pretty mad when nurse Jill gave him the shots but calmed down once we got in the car. He was fussy all afternoon though and by last night he had a fever of about 101 and threw up. Bless his heart, I don't think I slept a wink. I kept going in to check on him and make sure his fever hadn't gone up any more. He slept pretty good and woke up with a smile on his face this morning. Glad that is over!
We are so thankful for a happy, healthy, growing boy!
