Fun at the Park

I took Sam to the Flowood park for the first time this afternoon and we had a blast. I wasn't sure if he was going to like the swings or not so we took his car with us just in case. I think he had more fun watching all of the other children playing than he did anything else!! We are looking forward to more warm days so we can go back and play again soon.

Eight Months Old!

What has Sam been up to lately?

*He is wearing size 4 diapers and 12-18 months clothes - such a big boy!

*He still isn't loving his morning nap but usually sleeps at least an hour and a half each afternoon.

*He is sleeping GREAT at night - we hardly ever hear a peep from him.

*He is a pro at sitting up and catching himself if he starts to fall over. Whenever he gets on the floor for some tummy time, he always gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth and then ends up crawling backward or rolling - still no crawling forward yet, but I feel like it is only a matter of time before he's on the go! He just recently started going from all fours to sitting up by himself.

*He says "gah-gah" and "guh-guh" all the time now and just jabbers away. His little voice is so cute!

*He is trying to pull up on furniture and on the side of his bed.

*His hair is FINALLY starting to come in and is getting a little darker. I still think it will be pretty light though.

*He loves to "wave" hi and bye and has started curling and uncurling his fingers when he tries to wave.

*He clicks his tongue and loves for someone else to do it with him - he thinks it is so funny!

*He is a people watcher - especially the ladies. There have been times we have been out eating and he has almost flipped back in his highchair from leaning back and craning his neck to watch people around us or anybody walking by. He will even "jabber" at them to try and get their attention.

*He is very rarely NOT smiling and has the sweetest temperament.

Sweet Sam, you have brought so much joy to our whole family these past eight months and we feel so blessed to have you in our lives. I am so thankful for every minute we get to spend together and look forward to many more fun days ahead with you.

What a perfect day to take the new car out for a spin around the neighborhood!!

Laughing With Dad

Every Saturday morning we usually go eat breakfast at Primos or Corner Bakery - it just depends on what we're in the mood for! This morning we went to Corner Bakery and Sam and Dad couldn't stop laughing at each other for some reason. What a sweet picture of my two favorite boys!

Today, Sam and I went to Lili's house to try to snap some pictures for our Easter card. I wasn't sure if he was going to cooperate with all of the fun things around him, but he was such a good sport and sat pretty still for most of it!!

The wagon he is sitting in for all of the pictures was my grandfather's wagon when he was a little boy. He redid the wagon for me when I was a little girl and it has been in storage at my mom's house for quite a while. It is in great shape and I can't to share the story behind the wagon with Sam when he gets a little older. Papa would be so happy that our sweet Sam is enjoying the wagon he worked so hard on!

A NEW CAR!!

With the warm weather coming - Adam and I thought it would be a great time to get Sam something fun to play with outside. He went on his very first trip to Walmart tonight and left with this very cool green car!

Can you tell how much he loved it?

By the time we got home and put it together it was already dark outside but we had to let him try it out so we made a few laps around the living room before bedtime.

Then we drove through the kitchen, picked up a bottle and headed to bed! We're gonna hit the streets tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Lili & Bobi!

Today was a very special day around our house - Lili AND Bobi's birthday!! These two are not only the best grandmothers around, but also the best babysitters in town. There isn't a better feeling in the world than when I go to work each day and know that Sam is in the best of hands. We definitely couldn't make it without them. We enjoyed celebrating with them today and look forward to many more happy birthdays. We love you both very much!
