A Boy and His Dog

Reading to Jack

My Favorite Boys

Happy Birthday, Hayes!

Today we celebrated Hayes' 1st birthday with a Mickey Mouse party.  I am convinced that Hayes and Jack will both be referred to as "Baby Hayes" and "Baby Jack" by their big brothers for many years to come.  It is crazy how quickly the baby stage has flown and here we are celebrating an entire year that has passed!

These two party animals have fun wherever they go!
Sam had to go make sure that Baby Jack was having fun too.  He can usually clap Jack's hands together and  always get a smile or a laugh.
After eating a yummy lunch it was time to watch Hayes open his presents.

He had some very good helpers!
Time for singing and cake - Sam's favorite part!!
Poor Jack partied as long as he could but just didn't make it until the end.
This little boy played pretty hard too and was ready for a good nap by the time we got in the car.

Happy Birthday, Hayes!  We enjoyed celebrating with you and look forward to many more.  We love you!

Sam's First Swimming Lesson

Sam had his very first swimming lesson today and did great!!  He is taking private lessons from Mr. Joe, the Aquatics Director at the Flowood YMCA, and I think it will be a perfect fit.  I'm so proud of my little swimmer for being brave and getting right in there today.  Good job, Sam!

Ole Miss vs. Arkansas

Some chilly weather and the threat of rain couldn't keep these Rebel fans away this weekend.  We got to Oxford Friday afternoon in time to drop Rusty off at the condo and head to the stadium.

Sam was so still and sweet during the National Anthem.

Unfortunately we didn't get to watch very much baseball that night.  The rain started pouring down and the game went into a rain delay.  Sam was very patient and did a little "work" while we waited for the rain to subside.  After a while it still wasn't letting up so they decided to finish the game on Saturday.

Saturday it was very chilly after all of the rain had moved through.  It's pretty crazy to think we were bundled up like this on an April day in Mississippi!!

Before the game started today Adam and Sam went down and checked out the playground and walked around a little bit.

During the game the Black Bear came to visit but Sam wouldn't have anything to do with him.  He wouldn't even give him five!!

The poor bear was so sad.

So Mama...

Daddy...

Baby Jack and Bobi all had their picture made with him.  He wasn't sad anymore!!

At the end of the game today a nice man up in the Diamond Club walked over to Sam and gave him a baseball.  Sam was so proud and hasn't let it out of his sight since we left the game.

Rusty is guarding it for Sammy until tomorrow morning.  :)

Jack's Baptism

Today was a wonderful day filled with so many blessings.  I looked around the sanctuary this morning at the faces of sweet friends and family that had gathered to show their love and support and I felt blessed to have them all in my life.  I walked up to the front of the church with my two precious sons and felt blessed to be a mother.  I stood next to a handsome, caring man who is a wonderful provider and makes an excellent father to my children and I felt blessed to call him my husband.  But most importantly I watched as Reverend Vicki Landrum place her hand on Jack's sweet little head and baptized him and I felt blessed by God's grace.

Getting Jack dressed at the church.  He wore the same gown his brother and two cousins wore at their baptisms.

"Uh...did these ladies just put me in a dress?!"
Handsome Jack with his Lili
 Love that smile!
Cute cousins.  The two older ones have this picture thing down.  The two little ones are more interested in checking each other out!

Sam and Meme.  Aren't they cute??

After church we went to Bobi and Pop Pop's house for lunch.  Sweet friends and family brought baby Jack gifts to celebrate his special day.  Sam was such a big help opening the presents!

Can't beat Mrs. Lou's petit fours - always so pretty and delicious!
We were so glad Amy, Patty and Steve Lee joined us.
