UM v. AL

Friday after Adam got off work we drove to Oxford for a highly anticipated football game weekend.  Ole Miss, with a record of 4-0, was set to play #1 ranked Alabama on Saturday and ESPN's College Gameday was coming to campus.

Happy to be in Oxford!

After the kids went to sleep Friday night, Adam and I drove to campus and walked around to see what all of the commotion was about.

Saturday afternoon Morgan and I got dressed and went to visit one of my old accountancy professors, Dr. Cassidy, while the boys went to the football game.
A snap shot of campus before the game started.  Adam said things were wild!

Katy Perry was in town and was the "Guest Picker" for College Gameday.  She was the only one that picked Ole Miss to win the game.

Morgan and I watched the first half of the game with Dr. Cassidy.  Not long after we left her house Morgan fell asleep in the car so I rode in hopes of letting her sleep while I listened to the game on the radio.  With a few minutes left in the fourth quarter, Morgan woke up and was hungry.  We stopped in the Belk parking lot and I fed her in the front seat while we listened to the end of the game.  It was such a great game to listen to and I just knew as the seconds ticked down to a victory that Adam Milner was just beside himself.

My three guys had a blast at the game and I'm so happy that Sam and Jack got to experience such an exciting win in person.  It was the first time that Ole Miss had ever beaten a #1 ranked team.  Look at the field behind them!

Fans stormed the field and it was nothing but a sea of red and blue within seconds of the game ending.

Both goal posts were brought down and pieces were paraded through town.

Sam collected cups as they left the stadium.  He was so proud of his stash.
Who doesn't need 30 plastic cups with Bo Wallace on them?

As soon as the game ended and Morgan finished her bottle, we drove to Panera Bread to grab a table and wait to meet and eat dinner with the crew that went to the game.

Morgan got to try out her new widgeon coat for the first time.  It was chilly Saturday night!
After dinner we went to see Uncle Steve and Aunt Jeanne, Penny and Joe, and Robert at their condos.
Morgan was fascinated with Penny.  Penny had to tell Morgan all about how much fun it was going to be to boss her brothers around!  :)

We had such a wonderful weekend with great football and fun with friends and family.  I still can't believe the Rebels were able to pull off the victory against Alabama.  It's looking like we have a very exciting season ahead of us.  Hotty Toddy!

Lunch with Mrs. Charlene

Today we went to Sal and Mookie's with Lili and Mrs. Charlene.  We were having a belated birthday celebration for Mrs. Charlene.

Morgan was excited about getting to wear her new pants.  She looked so cute!

Sam and Jack had a ball making glasses out of the strings at the table.  Sweet man!

We all had such a fun lunch visiting with Mrs. Charlene.  She is such a special friend and we enjoy getting to spend time with her!
