Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirate's Life for Me....

This little pirate was worn out from carrying around all of his loot!

Happy Halloween!

We missed trick-or-treating in our neighborhood last night since we were in Oxford but we certainly made up for it when we got home today. Sam put on his cute pirate costume and we headed out to visit all of the grandparents and great-grandparents. They had so much fun playing and watching his little pirate feet run around!

He wasn't particularly fond of his hat and it actually spent most of the night in my hands instead of on his head.

He had to take a trick-or-treating break to tickle the ivories at Meme's. I just love his little crossed feet.

Happy Halloween and Arrgghh! ;)

Ole Miss vs. Auburn

After Adam got off work on Friday we headed to Oxford for a weekend of football and fun.

It was pretty late by the time we got there so Sam untucked his shirt and got comfortable before heading to bed. =)

Saturday we went to the square and ate lunch at Ajax. Sam attracted quite the crowd in his cute little sweater and collared shirt - he looked like a little man!

He was very good during the game and sat with his daddy for a while - I'm sure they were just chatting about the rules of the game.

But after almost three quarters of cheering for the Rebels...

Sweet Sammy decided it was time for a snooze. We were all sad the Rebels couldn't pull off a win but we still had a great time together in Oxford.

New Orleans (Part 2 - Sunday)

Sam woke up earlier than usual on Sunday morning so we decided to walk to Cafe Du Monde. It doesn't get much better than beignets and a beautiful sunrise.
We made quite a mess but Sam thought they were delicious!
On our way out of town we decided to squeeze in one more meal - lunch at Middendorf's. Much to my surprise, Sam really enjoyed the catfish. I'm beginning to think this boy will eat just about anything!

New Orleans (Part 1 - Saturday)

One of our very good friends, Lauren Lippincott, got married this past weekend in New Orleans and we were so happy to be able to go celebrate with her and Will. Lili and Shuffie made the road trip with us so we decided to leave early Saturday morning to make the most of our time in the Big Easy.

Earlier last week I found out that Sesame Street Live was going to be at the New Orleans Arena over the weekend while we were there - what good luck! I knew that Sam would love to go watch his favorite Sesame Street friends dancing and singing in real life so Lili was sweet enough to get tickets for herself, me and Sam to go see the show!
Our first stop before heading to our seats was at the souvenir stand. Sam got to pick out a few fun Sesame Street toys, a CD that we can listen to in the car and a t-shirt to help us remember our fun time!
The Sesame Street Live Stage!

We got to our seats and Sam couldn't stop looking around and smiling. He loved watching all the children around us and kept pointing to the stage. I knew that if he was this excited with some kids and an empty stage that the next hour and half was going to be a blast for him!

He just kept staring...

Lili & Sam having fun before the show started.

All the kids around us kept playing with this spinning Elmo toy that lit up so Lili had to make a second trip to the souvenir stand to get Sam one - he loves it!

Waiting patiently...

Sam loves Big Bird!

We decided to treat ourselves to some Cotton Candy during intermission. This was the first time Sam had ever eaten any and he wasn't so sure about it but after a few bites he was in love.

This is Sam's "Ohhh" face - one of my favorite Sam expressions.

Sesame Street Live, 1-2-3- Imagine! was such a great show and I enjoyed every minute of it simply because it made Sam so happy. He danced and smiled through most of the show and we had so much fun together!
After Sesame Street it was time to head to the hotel and get ready for the wedding.

My two handsome dates for the evening.

Checking out the church.

Waiting for Ms. Lauren to come down the aisle!

The wedding was beautiful and afterwards we headed to the Roosevelt for the reception. It was a great night of dancing, fun with friends and delicious food.

Sam was the ladies man!

But after a day filled with Sesame Street and dancing with all of your girlfriends...a boy has to take a rest.

Bling Bling

Sam's great-uncle sent him this hilarious shirt all the way from Missouri. We have definitely gotten a lot of laughs out of watching him run around the house with his "bling shirt" on.
