Happy Thanksgiving!

Ever since I was a little girl I have always enjoyed watching the holiday parades and I think I might have finally found someone to watch them with me! I could never really get Adam excited about watching but Sam sure loved seeing all of the floats and listening to the music. After a little parade-watching it was time to get dressed and ready to go eat with our families.

We went to Meme's house and had lunch with my family

and then headed to Pop Pop & Bobi's house for dinner with Adam's family.

As usual, Banks and Sam had a good time playing together but it was almost impossible to get a picture of all six of us together!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day of good food and fellowship with those they love the most. We certainly have so much to be thankful for this year!

Visiting Mama at Work

Sam came to visit me at work today and could only take a minute to play because he had some very important phone calls to make!

15 Month Checkup

After a few weeks of being sick off and on, Sam was finally well enough to go to his fifteen month checkup today and get his shots. He weighed 27 lbs and was 35 inches long by the nurse's measurements; however, we are thinking it is more like 33 inches.

What has Sam been up to lately?

*He is wearing a size 5 diaper, 18-24 month clothes and size 6 shoes (or 'foofs' as he likes to call them).

*He is still a GREAT sleeper and goes to bed around 8:30 every night and usually sleeps until at least 7:30 the next morning. Most days he will also take a morning and afternoon nap.

*He is more of a runner than a walker lately and has had the best time exploring all over the new house. You will either find him in the master bath turning the jacuzzi water on and off or trying to stick his hand in Rusty's water bowl.
*He definitely belongs in our family because he loves to eat! He is still eating some baby food though because he seems to like the texture of those veggies better. His pediatrician says as long as he is getting the nutrients she doesn't care if he eats baby food until he goes to college!

*He certainly knows the meaning of 'No' and also knows when he is doing something he shouldn't. It is extremely hard to keep a straight face when telling him no because he is usually telling himself "doh, doh, doh" (no, no, no) before I can get the words out of my mouth.

*He loves playing outside and will usually stand at the back door and say "Peeeez" over and over again until we take him out there - what a boy!

*He is constantly talking and babbling and I love hearing his little voice. He thinks it is so funny to say "Hi Mama" and for me to say "Hi Sam" and for us to go back and forth over and over - especially when we are riding in the car.

*He can spot a truck or a baby from a mile away and loves to let me know every time he sees one. We have been known to follow people with babies through a store until he can get a good look at them!

*He can do most of the animal sounds and when you ask him to count he says "2, 6, 2" - silly boy!

*He has the best laugh - almost like Woody Woodpecker - fast and hilarious and something I could never do if I tried.

*He is such a sweet and loving little boy and gives lots of hugs and kisses that ALWAYS warm my heart. We were out to dinner a few nights ago and he kept leaning over towards me to pat my arm and smile. Boy do I cherish these moments because I'm sure some day it won't be very cool to love on your mom!
Sam, you fill my days with happiness and laughter and I love watching you grow and learn.
We love you!
