Jack rested much better Friday night and seemed to be feeling better when we got up Saturday morning so we decided to keep our weekend plans. We packed our bags, grabbed some Chick-fil-A breakfast and hit the road to meet our good friend Rebekah in Oxford for a long overdue reunion. Rebekah and I talk all the time but it had been over two years since we last saw each other face-to-face.
We made it into town around noon on Saturday and met Rebekah for lunch at Ajax. The last time she laid eyes on Sam he was around 7 months old so you can only imagine her surprise when he walked in followed by me pushing a stroller with the newest addition to our family that she had never met, baby Jack! Boy how things had changed in just a few short years!!
After lunch we drove over to Swayze Field to watch the Rebels play the LSU Tigers. Rebekah and Jack became fast friends!
In celebration of a Rebel victory and Cinco de Mayo, Adam, Sam, Jack, Rebekah, Bobi, Kevin, Lauren, Sarah and I ate dinner after the game at The South Depot Taco Shop. We also posed for a few pictures before Rebekah had to get on the road.
I am so happy that my boys had such a fun day with someone so special to me. Two years and one new baby later, but it was as if we had never been apart. That's the kind of feeling that makes you thank God for blessing you with such a precious friend.
Sunday it was back to the baseball stadium to cheer on the Rebels again. Sam was definitely prepared with one pair of shades on his face and a backup pair on his hat!
Look who we ran into up in the Diamond Club - Rebel Bear!! This encounter with him was much better than the last one. Sam actually gave him a high-five this time and agreed to take one picture as long as Daddy stayed with him. Unfortunately the Rebels couldn't pull off a win today but we still had a fun time and are already looking forward to next season!
