Sam's First T-Ball Game

In celebration of Sam's very first t-ball/baseball game ever, he had a few treats waiting on him this morning when he woke up.  We wanted our sweet boy to feel special today!

I got strawberry-filled donuts and decorated the tops with red icing so they looked like baseballs.  He was so excited!

Jack posing with his big brother in uniform as soon as we got to the fields today.  This year Sam is on the Navy 3/4 yr old T-ball team with the Northwest Rankin Athletic Association.  His coach is Scott Werne and his team is The Bears.  The team sponsor for the season is Rick's Pro Truck.

We got to the fields early enough to watch a little bit of Semmes' game.  He is such a good buddy and neighbor.  Sam loves having him next door.

One happy family ready to watch Sam play ball!

Striking little ball player getting ready to take the field.

Practicing with daddy before the game.

Thumbs up and ready to play.

Happy boy!

On deck, taking a few practice swings.

One of the sweetest moments of the day was captured in this photo.  Sam came up for his first "at-bat" and as soon as Jack saw him the biggest grin spread across his face and he started waving away at Sam.

Smoke that ball, Sam!

Sam and his team on defense.

Sam's favorite spot was on the pitcher's mound.  Love him giving his Daddy high-five in this picture.

My sweet #12.

Jack and Pop Pop had a good time together while they watched some of Sam's game by the fence.

After the game both teams lined up for high-fives and hand shakes.

A little team meeting after the game.

1-2-3...Go Bear!!

"Good game, brother!"

Daddy, Sam, Jack and Pop Pop getting a snack after the game.
Each player gets to go with his team to the concession stand after the game to pick-out a drink and some candy.  Jack and Pop Pop shared some popcorn and Jack couldn't get enough.  I believe it was his first taste of the good stuff and he is certainly a fan.

My heart is full tonight from such a fun-filled day.  From just about the time Sam could sit up on his own he has been holding or throwing a ball.  Watching his love for baseball from such an early age has proven to me that sometimes you're just born to love something without being taught anything about it. He has looked forward to being able to play on the "big fields" for so long and that wish came true today.  He was all smiles and it was pure joy to watch.  Great game, Sam!  We love you so much!
