Shuffie had a very unfortunate encounter with another vehicle tonight. He and Lili had just finished eating at Amerigo and were driving down Old Canton Road when it happened. A guy in a pickup truck was backing up in the same lane Shuff was driving forward in and crashed right into the front of Shuffie's car. The guy that hit him immediately left the scene. A nice man and his son happened to be walking down the sidewalk and witnessed the entire accident. They stopped to check on Shuffie and told him that the guy had been backing up in hopes of picking up a "lady of the evening." Wow! The man and his son stayed until the police came so they could be official witnesses to the accident. I guess that act of kindness shows there really are still good people left in the world. Although, it really made me sad to think that what used to be such a nice part of town is not as safe as it once was. Shuffie wasn't hurt too badly, but is going to go to the emergency room to have his neck and wrist checked out since they are hurting him a little bit. We are so thankful you are ok, Shuffie!
